If you’re new to the blog, you may have not seen the “We’re Expecting Baby Number Two” announcement from a few months back. Aiden poses for my camera as we announce that he will soon be a BIG BROTHER! Well now that I’m in my third trimester, feeling like I’m going to POP at any moment, I figured I better get in a few maternity photos before baby number two (who has been already been named Nathaniel Ryan) makes his big debut.
Instead of going the outdoorsy/sun lit in a field maternity photos, I wanted something a little bit more dramatic; something that had yet to be done in the world of maternity photos. So I pulled out my new Westcott Rapid Box 26″ Octa Softbox (I literally just got this bad boy and was excited to test it out)!!! I set that up on a stand and positioned my camera and another tripod just to the right of it. Silly preggo brain over here, but I somehow misplaced my camera trigger so I simply set my camera up on the 10 second timer, pressed the shutter release and rushed over to my backdrop to get in the frame of the photo before the 10 seconds were up. Admittedly, I tripped a few times, got some really goofy photos that will never be revealed BUT I did get at least this one keeper pictured below. Love how dramatic the lighting and edit is. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below!
Hopefully not too far from now, I’ll be posting photos of my new baby boy & his big brother!
